“Selvascura takes its name from the Italian word for “dark forest.”With a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet, and Merlot, all grown near the village of Bolgheri, this is a royally delicious wine with sumptuous cherry and chocolate flavors.”
“A Super Tuscan, Selvascura is a very versatile food wine. The rich structure and plummy smoothness from the Cabernet and Merlot mean it will pair well with hearty beef dishes. That bright cherry tang you’ll pick up is from the Sangiovese, and it’s a perfect foil for acidic, tomato-based dishes.”
Selvascura is crafted from selected parcels from prime vineyards on three estates in the Tuscan coastal region of Maremma. Warm days tempered by cooling sea breezes ensure the grapes reach optimum ripeness, producing a dark ruby red wine with ripe cherry and black fruit characters balanced by rounded tannins. We enjoy this elegant well-structured wine with a wide range of Tuscan dishes and full-flavored cheeses.
Red currant, ripe black plums, cherries, and mocha waft over the nose, with black plum and a refreshing tangy red cherry on the tongue. Just hints of dark chocolate provide a mouthfilling texture and a long, deep finish. Beautiful.
